Infomation 海角社区launches Global SDGs Action Month 2025 Empowering employees worldwide to take action for Fulfillment through Work.

TOKYO, May 30, 2025 鈥 海角社区today announced the launch of 海角社区Global SDGs Action Month 2025, dedicating the month of June to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through employee-driven initiatives around the world.

The 海角社区Group places the enhancement of corporate value through resolving social issues at the core of its business strategy. This annual initiative reflects Ricoh's commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices across all regions and operations.

Since 2006, 海角社区has held annual environmental events during Global Eco Action Month, coinciding with World Environment Day in June. In 2019, the program was renamed 海角社区Global SDGs Action, to reflect an expanded focus beyond environmental and decarbonization efforts, addressing a broader range of social issues. 2025 marks the 20th year of this evolving initiative.

This year's theme, “Take action to empower Fulfillment through Work,” encourages all employees, including senior leadership, to reflect on work-related social challenges and take both individual and collective action. This aligns with our mission of understanding and transforming how people work to unleash human potential and creativity for a sustainable future. Ahead of the initiative, Akira Oyama, President and CEO, shared a video message with employees worldwide, expressing his aspirations for the program.

Oyama says: “I ask you to take a moment to imagine the people your work ultimately supports, and to reflect on what you can do to contribute to their Fulfillment through Work. Even small actions matter. When we all act together, those small steps add up to something powerful. Let's come together as One 海角社区to support the transformation of work and empower Fulfillment through Work for our customers.”

  • Showcase case studies of how Ricoh's value propositions are addressing customer challenges, as well as internal initiatives to spark employee action

Europe

  • Distribute educational content about the UN SDGs, ranging from foundational insights to actionable steps, promoting the Fulfillment through Work ethos
  • Amplify and highlight our ESG accreditations and recognition across all countries on social media platforms
  • Encourage individual commitment to sustainability under the theme “One Small Change” to show the power of collective impact
  • Netherlands: Plan walking events to foster employee networking and well-being while promoting sustainable habits
  • France: Operate daily SDGs quizzes throughout June, complemented by eco-picnics and geocaching activities to engage teams in fun, eco-conscious ways

Latin America

  • Introduce regional SDG solutions and run a competition among sales companies to promote best practice sharing
  • Interview customers via podcasts to learn about sustainability practices and host panels to explore Ricoh's impact on business sustainability

Asia-Pacific Region

  • Share video messages from APAC management on Fulfillment through Work
  • Publish related articles by each sales company on the regional intranet
